Dominic A. Parent
Associate Attorney
Dominic A. Parent is an associate attorney who joined the Fairfield & Associates, P.A. team in Spring of 2020. His practice focuses on litigation and appeals in the areas of Criminal Law, Protective Custody Matters, Constitutional Law, Post Conviction Review, Administrative Agency Hearings, Personal Injury and Insurance, and Civil Rights Law. Dominic has advised clients and businesses, litigated cases, and advocated for legislation in a multitude of venues across Maine.
Dominic graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law, where he was a Staff Editor for the Ocean and Coastal Law Journal, served as a Student Attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic in the Juvenile Law and Prisoner Assistance Clinics, and was a Research Assistant for Professor Charles H. Norchi writing on issues of international and environmental law. Dominic was the Bernstein Fellow at the Maine District Court in Portland, and maintains positive relationships with Judges, Clerks, and Judicial Marshalls from his time there.
Prior to Law School, Dominic worked in the special education field at the Margaret Murphy Centers for Children and MSAD 6 and has held a myriad of different jobs including stints as a Zamboni driver in Auburn and Portland. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dominic attended Massabesic schools and spent his childhood summers with his family in the Saint John River Valley.
Dominic has a dynamic array of legal interests including environmental law, admiralty law, municipal law, business organizations, marijuana law, and family law. In his free time, he enjoys playing ice hockey and golf, spending time in nature, and learning.
